Phil Alison
Phil Alison
Founder of Cherri Global

Phil Alison has been involved in the horticultural sector as a grower, product innovator as well as holding senior governance positions including chairman of New Zealand Apples & Pears for 8 years. Phil is an innovator and pioneer, who looks at things unconventionally and with a purpose to disrupt sectors and markets. He took a miniature apple and created a world-wide sensation with the Rockit apple. He created a brand, innovative packaging and took on the FMCG market with Rockit, positioning it against conventional snack foods as a healthy alternative. Phil has taken the same approach with cherries. He has developed a unique brand and positioning - the World's Finest Cherries and he has developed a product that is marketed direct to the consumer. Phil is always thinking outside of the square and it's always a matter of 'watch this space' with a focus on add value, research and development and extending the core product into a suite of additional consumer products.

Phil was also responsible for the creation of a variety breeding strategy and an associated commercial operation including Chairperson responsibilities.
